Swansea City reportedly hope to install their new manager before their next home match against West Ham United on 20December.

The Welsh outfit sacked Garry Monk on Wednesday evening after the 3-0 home defeat to Leicester City capped off a run of just one win in 11 Premier League matches.

Just one point above the relegation zone, the Swans have been linked with former Manchester United boss David Moyes and their ex-manager Brendan Rodgers after his dismissal at Liverpool. According to BBC Wales, they hope to do their business quickly.

But it would seem more likely to be Gus Poyet, the AEK Athens head coach, or Avram Grant, currently managing Ghana, while moves for Chile’s Jorge Sampaoli and Ryan Giggs have been speculated too.

Caretaker manager Alan Curtis will lead the side for the trip to face Manchester City this weekend after Sampaoli was forced to release a statement to deny he had resigned as the Chilean boss.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton also says he is committed to his role with the Glasgow club while Moyes has distanced himself from the Liberty Stadium role in recent days.
