From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Liverpool skipper will be playing his final home game this weekend before leaving for LA Galaxy when the Reds take on Crystal Palace in the late afternoon game on Saturday.
It promises to be an emotional occasion - and potentially an expensive one as well.
Some ticket holders have put their tickets for the match onto ticket-exchange websites and are demanding thousands of pounds for the privilege of seeing Gerrard play his last game at Anfield.
A pair of tickets in the Anfield Road stand are listed on ticketbis.net for £2,500 each. Meanwhile a single ticket in the Centenary Stand is being sold for £2,448.
With the match being Liverpool's last home game of the season, holders of season tickets and members cards are among those taking advantage of the demand in the knowledge their passes will be worthless after the game.
The game against mid-table Crystal Palace is officially list as a 'Category C' game on Liverpool's website, meaning the face-value of tickets is £37-£49.
Gerrard's final game for Liverpool will come against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on the last day of the season.
