From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Chelsea came from behind to win 2-1 at St Mary's and end Southampton's seven-match unbeaten run.

Southampton were much the better side in the first-half and eventually took the lead through Shane Long.

The Irishman pounced on an awful Baba Rahman mistake to dink over goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois just before half-time.

That error cost Rahman his place at half-time, with Guus Hiddink replacing him with Kenedy - a move that helped change the game.

An injury to Shane Long also helped the Blues, with Southampton no longer able to press and harry the Chelsea defence as they had done previously.

Cesc Fabregas' equalising goal was a touch fortunate, with Fraser Forster's momentary hesitation seeing the Spaniard's cross nestle in the far corner.

There was nothing fortunate about the winner, however. Branislav Ivanovic, captain for the day in place of the injured John Terry, powered home an unstoppable header that sees Chelsea remain unbeaten under Hiddink in the Premier League and move up to 11th in the table.
