Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason is having an incredible season in north London and capped it with an England debut as the Three Lions drew with Italy last night.

Mason, 23, was playing in League One with Swindon only last season but has flourished under Mauricio Pochettino and earned the attention of England boss Roy Hodgson, who handed him a debut in Turin.

But the midfielder will have woken this morning to the knowledge he has become an internet sensation after a user on Twitter compared a tattoo on his arm to a picture of his 12-year-old self.

User @Danorako has received more than 18,000 retweets so far.

The resemblance is uncanny.
