Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

So here it is Merry Christmas...

You know the words, we're not going to sing them for you - the Queens Park Rangers squad are.

Rio Ferdinand, Joey Barton, Charlie Austin and even Harry Redknapp and Glenn Hoddle are among the players and staff to get in on this festive offering from west London club.

Unfortunately for viewers, those in the video are only miming along - some more heartily than others. Perhaps have been dubbed out because they were so bad.

Clint Hill was belting Slade classic Merry Xmas Everybody with all his might but other players were clearly mouthing along.

QPR, whose players also raised £30,000 to help fight the spread of Ebola last month, are now up to 17th in the Premier League after picking up seven points in their last five matches.

They travel to Goodison Park to play Everton on Monday night, before hosting West Brom on the 20th and playing Arsenal at the Emirates on Boxing Day.
