Premier League title race: Harry Winks claims Tottenham ‘can never be written off’ and believes they can mix it with Manchester City and Liverpool
Spurs remain just five points off the top, having coped well without the injured Harry Kane and Dele Alli
Harry Winks has warned Tottenham cannot be written off in the Premier League title race as conversation swirls around Liverpool and Manchester City.
City moved clear of the Reds on goal difference after beating Everton midweek, but Spurs remain just five points behind.
Winks, who scored a late winner vs Fulham recently, has pointed to the belief of picking up points whilst not playing at their best and without players such as Harry Kane and Dele Alli through injury.
“We can never be written off, that’s the most important thing,” Winks told Sky Sports.
“We’ve scored a lot of late goals and it shows how much we persevere in a match and that the manager’s instilled a never-say-die attitude in the lads, and we know the game doesn’t finish until the final whistle.

“If we continue to press the team and try to get the opposition on the back foot until the final minute, we know we’re more than capable of scoring. We’ve done that this season.”
Winks believes there is “no reason” why Spurs cannot compete for the title after surviving a poor run of form and injuries stretching their squad.
Spurs face Leicester this weekend, hoping to keep pace, but with one eye on the Champions League next week.
Borussia Dortmund travel to Wembley for the first leg of their last 16 clash on Wednesday, with a tough run of games before the return game in Germany: Burnley, Chelsea and then Arsenal.
