From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The Manchester club now sit third in the Premier League table after winning four of their past five matches in convincing fashion. Southampton, on the other hand, will be looking to return to winning ways after suffering three successive losses and a subsequent drop in the Premier League table.
For Manchester City, it has been their poor away form which has let them down so far this season. The return of captain Vincent Kompany against West Bromwich Albion in midweek will be a major boost as they look to sure up defensively away from home. Before their loss to Aston Villa on Wednesday night, Southampton had been one of the form teams in the Premier League at home. Pochettino will be hoping his side can turn around results as they seek to cement their place in a European position.
Southampton still have a host of injuries and Paulo Gazzaniga looks set to continue to deputise for Artur Boruc in goal as the Polish stopper is still side-lined by injury. The Argentinian will have to be at his best to keep out the lethal combination of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo, who have scored a combined 17 goals so far in the Premier League. The high pressing game of the Saints may just come unstuck against side that possess the quality of Manchester City.
