At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Pukki, who has scored five goals in four games, beat Ashley Barnes, Roberto Firmino, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne to win the award.
His goals include one each against Liverpool and Chelsea, and a memorable hat-trick in a 3-1 win against Newcastle in Norwich City’s first home game back in the Premier League.
The Finn has been hailed as one of the best ever free signings, with the Canaries picking him up at the beginning of last year after he failed to sign a new deal with Brondby in Denmark.
Scoring 29 goals as Norwich won the Championship title last season, Pukki has become a fans favourite at Carrow Road.
Daniel Farke’s men have won plaudits for their gung-ho approach to the Premier League, but whilst Pukki has excelled his club only have three points after four matches – leaving them 19th in the table.
Jurgen Klopp, by contrast, has seen his Liverpool side win all of their opening four matches, with wins against Norwich, Southampton, Arsenal and Burnley making up their perfect record.
The German manager won the award over Pep Guardiola, Brendan Rodgers and Roy Hodgson, and it is his third in the last year, also winning the award in December 2018 and March 2019.
Liverpool’s impressive start to the season has seen them take an early advantage in the title race, with the Reds currently two points ahead of Manchester City who dropped points in a 2-2 draw at home against Spurs.
