The Spaniard is expected to join City at the end of the season after announcing his intention to manage in England when he leaves Bayern Munich in May, to be replaced at the Allianz Arena by Carlo Ancelotti.
Guardiola is yet to confirm City as his first-choice in public but the 45-year-old is widely expected to turn down late offers from Manchester United and Chelsea to manage at the Etihad next season.
The Manchester club are planning to visit China as part of the £265m deal which saw China Media Capital purchase a 13% stake last month. According to the Daily Mirror, Guardiola is central to their strategy to break into the Asian market.
Despite Manuel Pellegrini expecting to leave in the summer, the Chilean’s side still have ambitions towards winning a quadruple this term. City are still in the Premier League title race, through to the knock-out rounds of the Champions League, safely into the fifth round of the FA Cup and set to face Liverpool in the Capital One Cup final.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored a hat-trick as City eased past Aston Villa in the FA Cup this weekend with Raheem Sterling adding a fourth at Villa Park.
