From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

It’s a big game for…

Cameron Jerome: There have been glimpses of the Cameron Jerome who scored 21 goals during Norwich’s promotion campaign, but only glimpses. The former Stoke City forward has netted twice in 15 Premier League appearances and is goalless since October. If Everton are as kind to the Canaries as they were to Bournemouth, Jerome may have a chance to recapture his former potency.

4: Four of Everton’s Premier League visits to Carrow Road have ended in a draw. Their first meeting ended 1-1, their latest 2-2.

Remember when…

Norwich scored twice in the final six minutes of their 2013 encounter; Grant Holt’s 90th minute winner earned the Canaries their first win in 10 matches.

Player to watch…

Romelu Lukaku: There is a Belgian striker on Merseyside tearing through Premier League defences at the moment, and it’s not Liverpool’s Christian Benteke. Lukaku, wearing Evertonian blue, scored his sixth goal in five league matches to rescue a point against Crystal Palace on Monday. Petr Cech was the last keeper to prevent the Toffees striker from scoring, in October – take note, John Ruddy.
