Newcastle host Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday as the struggling visitors look to build on back-to-back draws.

Scott Parker’s newly-promoted side shared the points against Liverpool and Brighton in their last two outings, meaning they are 18th in the table on five points, and they could climb out of the relegation zone – if briefly – with a victory here.

And that might just be achievable against a Newcastle team whose confidence will have been somewhat dented by their 5-2 defeat by Leeds last time out. A competitive game devolved into a thrashing in the final 13 minutes as Steve Bruce’s Magpies conceded three late on, and the coach will have warned his players that much more resilience is required from here on out.

A win at St James’ Park could see the hosts rise to the top half of the table – depending on how Saturday’s other fixtures play out.
