Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy insists he retains the support of club owner Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey - and he will look to strengthen his squad next month.

Wolves are currently lying second from bottom of the Barclays Premier League after Saturday's 3-0 reversal at Blackburn.

McCarthy, who kept Wolves in the top flight last season, has been hit by a string of injuries including those suffered by skipper Karl Henry and key defender Jody Craddock.

The former Republic of Ireland manager said: "The support has been brilliant from Steve and Jez.

"That has always been the same and it will never, never change. The support is there.

"In terms of signings, it has always been the same here with Steve and Jez.

"If we can do it, if the right players are available, we will try and do something."

Adlene Guedioura and Michael Kightly are also on the injury list while Dave Jones and Michael Mancienne are battling to be fit to face Birmingham on Sunday.

McCarthy said: "We are having a tough spell at the moment but it is a lot easier if you've got everyone fit and well and available.

"At the moment, one problem seems to be compounded by another."
