From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Madcap Liverpool player Mario Balotelli has posted a video of himself on the internet which shows him being chased by a dog.

The Italian striker is filmed in a gym along with friends, two of which appear to be Armenian-Italian kick-boxers, who encourage the Labrador to pursue the 24-year-old.

More used to dodging defenders than dogs, a giggling Balotelli hops in and out of a sparring ring in a bid to escape the canine's attention.

He posted the video along with the words: "OMG BEST EVER!". In it he tagged Giorgio and Armen Petrosyan, who are professional kick-boxers.

Balotelli joined Liverpool last summer in a £16m deal but has failed to make much of an impact. Former Red and now BBC analyst, Mark Lawrenson, recently laid into the striker.

"Forget about Mario Balotelli. He is an absolute waste of time. He shouldn't be anywhere near this team," he said after Liverpool's 0-0 draw with Blackburn in the FA Cup.

"I can see why Brendan Rodgers threw him on today as he might just create something, but 99 times out of 100 he will let you down."
