Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Mario Balotelli really does not like Manchester United.
Ahead of today’s Premier League match at Anfield, the Italian striker, who is currently on loan at AC Milan has urged Liverpool to “destroy” United in a tweet he sent out this morning.
Balotelli and United do have some history. It was during the 6-1 demolition in 2011 that scored for United’s rivals Manchester City in, and then unveiled the infamous “Why Always Me?” T-shirt.
Then last season, Balotelli took to Twitter to write “United…lol” after United were thrashed 5-3 by Leicester City in September 2014.
It has been a season to forget for the maverick forward this season, he has not played since September after suffering a back injury.
One glaring error in that tweet, however. Balotelli used the term “ex team-mates” for Liverpool. Balotelli is only at AC Milan on loan. Has he revealed that he will not return to Merseyside?
