Marcus Rashford's superbly taken goal in the Manchester derby has seen a fresh surge in fans calling for the teenage sensation to be included in the England squad for this summer's European Championships.

Others on Twitter used the 16th minute goal to mock Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis who was dumped on the floor by the schoolboy.

Juan Mata provided the assist for the opening goal at the Etihad, playing the ball into Rashford's feet on the edge of the box. The 18-year-old faced up to Demichelis before knocking the ball past the ageing Argentinian. The swift move and burst of pace that followed left Demichelis on the floor, giving Rashford the time to open up his body and calmly pass the ball past Joe Hart and into the back of the net.

Rashford's fifth goal in eight appearances sent Twitter went into overdrive. As well as calling for Rashford to be picked to play at Euro 2016, others considered how devastating he and Harry Kane could be if they were partnered together - something which the Independent's exclusive story means might happen at Old Trafford next season.
