Manchester United fans were beside themselves with their side's first-half showing against Stoke City.

Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial were on target in the Premier League meeting, with their goals ending some unwanted records that have been stinking out Old Trafford for nearly a year.

Lingard's headed goal was the first scored by a Manchester United player in the opening 45 minutes of a Premier League match at Old Trafford since September.

When Martial doubled the lead with a beautiful curled effort from a Wayne Rooney assist, it was the first time the Old Trafford faithful had seen two goals from their side in the first period at Old Trafford since their match against Manchester City in April.

Understandably, Manchester United fans were delighted...

Manchester United were leading the game 2-0 at half-time.
