Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's career in numbers

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku looks set to miss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first match as manager against Cardiff City.

The Belgium international has been given time off and has yet to return to the club, while Alexis Sanchez is also out for the trip to the Welsh capital.

Chris Smalling pulled up injured in the warm-up at Liverpool last weekend so is a doubt, while Luke Shaw will be hoping to return to the fold. Marcos Rojo missed the loss at Anfield, as did Matteo Darmian and Scott McTominay.

Solskjaer was this week confirmed as United’s interim manager following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho on Tuesday morning.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Grant, Young, Darmian, Valencia, Smalling, Shaw, Dalot, Bailly, Jones, Rojo, Fred, Matic, Pereira, Herrera, McTominay, Pogba, Lingard, Fellaini, Mata, Rashford, Martial.
