Marcus Rashford praised the impact of his fellow attackers during Manchester United‘s recent good run of form after reaching the 20-goal mark for the season.

The striker netted a penalty in his side’s 5-2 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

He also watched team-mate Anthony Martial hit the same milestone of 20 in all competitions with a brilliant curling effort, while Mason Greenwood scored twice to reach 15.

The win sent United up to fourth, at least for a few hours, and speaking to BT Sport after the game Rashford noted that it was a positive if goals were shared throughout the team and that the emphasis must be on continuing the run of results.

“It doesn’t really matter who scores as long as someone is and is putting the points on the table,” Rashford said.

“Mason’s been on fire, Anthony’s been on fire so it’s always positive for teams if the forwards are scoring. It’s important now to push on.”

The spotlight was on Greenwood after two excellent strikes against the Cherries, with the teenager quickly cementing a place for himself in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best XI.

Rashford acknowledged that his youger team-mate has all the attributes to be a major force in the future, but is keen to try and let him develop without adding to the pressure and scrutiny that goals will naturally bring.

“Left foot, right foot he can finish, both sides [are] comfortable for him. But I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on him, just let him play his football and do what he does.

“As you’ve seen today, that’s what he does – he scores goals when other people can’t and it’s a big bonus for us to have him in the squad.”
