Manchester United vs Newcastle LIVE Premier League: Latest score and updates
All the latest from Premier League fixture at Old Trafford
Manchester United face Newcastle in a big Premier League match for both teams. They both desperately need a result on Saturday evening, as United welcome the Magpies to Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho has faced a barrage of criticism for his side’s recent performances, with Tuesday’s goalless draw at home to Valencia in the Champions League resulting in a chorus of boos at the Theatre of Dreams.
Newcastle have had a similarly poor start to the season, with Rafa Benitez’s outfit yet to win a match this season and lost 2-0 at home to Leicester City last Saturday.
What time does it start?
Manchester United vs Newcastle United kicks off at 5:30PM (BST) on Saturday 6 October.
Where can I watch it?
The match will be shown live on BT Sport 1 from 5pm.
BT Sport subscribers can also watch online via the BT Sport app.
Highlights will be shown at 10:30pm on BBC One.
It’s a big game for…
Rafa Benitez: The Newcastle manager, following a summer of limited activity in the transfer market, is yet to win a match this season in all competitions. Currently languishing in the relegation zone, the Magpies need to find some sort of form, and fast. The opportunity to beat an under-pressure old nemesis in Jose Mourinho will serve as extra motivation for Benitez to get a result at Old Trafford.

Weird /best stat…
1: Newcastle United have only beaten Manchester United once in their last 36 matches, losing 26 of those games.
Remember when…
Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored a hat-trick in this fixture 16 years ago, in a topsy-turvy game which included Alan Shearer’s 100th Premier League goal for Newcastle with a thunderous free-kick. United won 5-3, and finished the 2002/03 season as champions; Newcastle finished third. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfzF1Wfe0FQ
Player to watch…
Marcus Rashford: In a Man United side currently looking devoid of inspiration in the final third, Rashford always provides a threat with his pace and trickery. Although likely to be up against the rapid DeAndre Yedlin on the left-hand side, the 20-year-old scored last week against West Ham, and will fancy his chances against the Magpies given their weak defensive display last week against Leicester.

21 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
Chance for Utd! Lukaku crosses the ball the right corner, he finds Rashford perfectly and the young man sends it wide. It's a poor effort and United should have a goal back.
24 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
Pogba wins a corner, Matic heads it on and Young whips it back into the box. Newcastle hold strong and get the ball clear
27 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
Smalling clatters through Perez on the halfway line. Newcastle get the ball down the left side and Perez tries to find Ritchie who comes blazing into the box but the cross is over his head.
30 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
Good play from Lukaku he holds the ball up against three Newcastle defenders before finding Martial on the left wing. Martial messes up though and can't drive the ball into the box.
34 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
David De Gea, you heroic man! What a save! Muto fires a really close range header on goal and De Gea dives to his left stopping the ball before scrambling to grab hold of it. De Gea keeps United in the contest.
37 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
Shelvey delivers another ball into the box and Lascelles is free to head the ball. It's a good job he can't control it or else United would be three down.
40 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
I honestly believe my local Sunday league side would score against this Man Utd defence. There's gaps everywhere and no co-ordination between the centre backs. Ashley Young is lucky to get away with a handball in the box.
41 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
Diame takes the ball off Matic with real ease, he runs into of of the gaps in between the tow centre backs and takes a shot. De Gea makes another save.
45 mins: Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
Man Utd win a corner and Young whips it in. Perez heads it out though. Utd get a second chance, Muto breaks away and Luke Shaw effectively rugby tackles him to the ground for a yellow.
Man Utd 0 - 2 Newcastle
Boos echoing around Old Trafford, Man Utd have been woeful. What can they do to change this in the second half?
