It's tough: Pep Guardiola reflects on end of City's quadruple dream

Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Tottenham.

After the high-octane drama of Wednesday night’s encounter, this was a far more subdued affair between the two sides.

Although Pep Guardiola‘s men looked far from their best, Phil Foden’s early goal proved to be the difference.

Son Heung-min came close to equalising for Spurs on a number of occasions – and threatened the City defence for much of the match – but the visitors were ultimately unable to find a breakthrough.
