New Manchester City signing Wilfried Bony has been put on the bench ahead of the visit of Newcastle United.

The Premier League champions signed the former Swansea striker for £28m+add-ons in January but Manuel Pellegrini still prefers Sergio Aguero up front.

City could see Chelsea go ten points clear if Jose Mourinho's men defeat Burnley at Stamford Bridge and the Chilean boss has responded by announcing an attacking line-up with includes Edin Dzeko and David Silva.

Newcastle, on the other hand, start with the prolific Ayoze Pérez in attack while Jack Colback continues in midfield.

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany (C), Mangala, Kolarov, Nasri, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva, Dzeko, Aguero.

Subs: Caballero, Demichelis, Clichy, Lampard, Fernando, Navas, Bony.
