Gabriel Jesus scored twice as Pep Guardiola’s side return to the top of the table at least temporarily
Manchester City returned to winning ways and to the top of the table after battling to a tough-fought 3-1 victory at the Etihad against Everton.
Pep Guardiola‘s side were in cruise control in the opening stages as Gabriel Jesus ended his Premier League goal drought to give City the lead, before adding a second early on in the second-half.
However, Marco Silva’s Everton were never quite out of the game, providing a gritty resistance and forging chances of their own amid the heavy rainstorm.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin pinched one back with 25 minutes to play, prepping a potentially nervy finale, but substitute Raheem Sterling came off the bench to put City out of reach for once and for all.
