City took to the social network site to announce that Sterling, who completed a club-record move to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, would give his thoughts on his transfer from Anfield in an exclusive interview with City's TV channel.
Unfortunately for the club's media team, they misspelled the England international's first name - which was, unsurprisingly, spotted by eagled-eyed tweeters.
".@sterling31's first CityTV interview...Coming soon! #WelcomeReheem #mcfc," the club wrote before quickly deleting the tweet and posting another message with the correct spelling.
The 20-year-old moves to Manuel Pellegrini's side on a five-year deal for a fee believed to be about £49million, which makes Sterling the most expensive English player ever.
The winger will wear the No 7 shirt at the Etihad Stadium, and is expected to fly to Australia within the next day to meet his new City team-mates.
The move from Anfield to Manchester comes after a long-running saga that began with Sterling's refusal to sign a new deal at Liverpool.
Brendan Rodgers' side offered the 20-year-old £100,000-a-week to stay with the Reds, but Sterling rejected it before City moved in to secure the winger's services.
