Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has elected to start Gabriel Jesus in Sunday's Manchester derby, dropping Sergio Aguero to the bench.

The Brazilian is one of three changes to Guardiola's starting line-up from last weekend's narrow win over West Ham United.

Vincent Kompany returns to the heart of the City defence and midfielder Fernandinho replaces Danilo.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, has named both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in his starting line-up.

Ander Herrera replaces the suspended Paul Pogba following the midfielder's three-match suspension for a sending off in last weekend's victory over Arsenal.

Victor Lindelof is the other player to drop out of the side that won 3-1 at the Emirates last weekend, with Mourinho reverting to a back four.

Jesse Lingard, who scored twice in last Saturday's victory, retains his place and is expected to operate behind lone frontman Romelu Lukaku.

Manchester United: De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Young; Matic, Herrera; Rashford, Lingard, Rashford; Lukaku.

Substitutes: Romero, Lindelof, Jones, Mata, Ibrahimovic, Shaw, McTominay.

Manchester City: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Kompany, Delph, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Sane, Jesus.
