This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

Luke Shaw will return for Manchester United against crosstown rivals Manchester City but they are still waiting for news on the fitness of Phil Jones, Ander Herrera, Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia.
Shaw has missed United's last three games with domestic and European suspensions, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will welcome the return of the England left-back after the 4-0 thrashing by Everton and a thumping by FC Barcelona.
Phil Jones went off with an injury against Everton and is doubtful to play, while Herrera, Bailly and Valencia are hoping to recover in time.
While United were soundly beaten at Goodison Park on Sunday, Manchester City snuck past Tottenham 1-0 and go in to Wednesday's game knowing they need to beat their foes from Old Trafford if they are to keep up the barely believable pace in the title race.
Man United boss Solskjaer has warned his side that they are now playing for their futures after a run of poor performances reached its nadir at Everton this weekend.
"It was simply not good enough for a Manchester United team,” Solskjaer said.
“I said all along I am going to be successful here... and there are players who won't be part of that successful team.
“There are many of them who do have it. We can't change the whole squad, it has to be one step at a time.
"City on the other side at Old Trafford on Wednesday, that is the biggest incentive that we can have.
"It sounds too easy to say we have to look forward but we cannot dwell too much on this. In the long term we have to look at this but in the short term we have to look at City and Chelsea."
