Your support makes all the difference.Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson will miss Tuesday's Premier League game against Swansea City due to a hamstring injury, manager Jürgen Klopp has confirmed.
Henderson, 27, was replaced by James Milner after just 14 minutes of Friday's thrilling 3-3 draw with Arsenal and Klopp is concerned that the England international could be ruled out for a chunk of Liverpool's busy festive season schedule.
“The problem is that Hendo will not feature for sure, he is out,” Klopp told the club's website.
Henderson left the Emirates Stadium pitch clutching his right hamstring, with the England midfielder facing a number of weeks on the sidelines if it proves as bad as first thought.
Klopp could choose to promote Milner to the starting line-up for the visit of Swansea to Anfield, although he does have other options as Georginio Wijnaldum is also available for selection, having come on during the second half of Friday’s encounter.
Milner spoke after Liverpool threw away a 2-0 lead over Arsenal in just five minutes – and subsequently had to fight back to salvage a 3-3 draw – and highlighted the need for the Klopp’s players to learn when to tighten up and not attack with such commitment if it means they risk losing a lead.
“From our point of view, being in that position in those games, we have maybe got to shut up shop and we a bit more defensive,” Milner said after the match.
“We obviously didn’t do that and made a couple of mistakes. At this level you get punished. Attacking football has defined the team this season but you have to know when to rein it in a bit and play a bit tighter with the formation we have rather than score every time we get it. But that is something we have to learn.”
