From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s a big game for…

Divock Origi: The young Belgian striker has started each of Jürgen Klopp’s first three games in charge due to the injuries suffered by Christian Benteke and Danny Ings. With Benteke coming back from injury to score against Southampton on Sunday, this may represent a final opportunity for Origi to break his Liverpool goalscoring duck.

Weird stat…

7 in 9

Seven of Liverpool’s last nine games in all competitions have ended 1-1, with Liverpool taking the lead but failing to win in five of them. Klopp will look to put that right against a Bournemouth side that have conceded 15 goals in their last five.

Remember when…

Raheem Sterling scored a brace in a 3-1 Liverpool win against Bournemouth in the League Cup quarter finals last season. It turned out to be a comfortable night for the Anfield club as they won just the second ever meeting between the two sides.

Player to watch…

Adam Lallana: The England midfielder has started all three of Liverpool’s games under Klopp and is establishing himself as an important part of his side’s attack. His new manager will be hoping he can form a dynamic partnership with Philippe Coutinho and Christian Benteke with the latter now recovered from a hamstring injury.
