Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Dejan Lovren is back in training but refused to reveal whether the central defender will play against Burnley.

The Croatian has missed the Reds last four games with a knee problem but returned to Melwood this week.

Ragnar Klavan has stepped in in Lovren’s absence and boss Klopp wouldn’t be drawn on who will start alongside Joel Matip this weekend.

“Ragnar Klavan has had some wonderful games,” he told his weekly press conference. “We will see what we do with Dejan Lovren. No decision yet.”

Klopp confirmed he would he would have liked to have kept a more stable back four this term but injuries have got in the way.

“There’s no time to think ‘oh my God’ when a player is injured, it’s about finding a solution,” he added. “I was not frustrated. We could have played Lovren and Matip more often. But no decision.

“We will see what we do. Consistency in the line-up is always good, the things you learn from each other, about each other, is important.”

Elsewhere Klopp confirmed that Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge will miss the clash at Anfield while Roberto Firmino will require a late fitness test.
