After 30 long years, Jurgen Klopp’s relentless and indomitable squad have restored Liverpool to the pinnacle of English football.

In a historic season, Liverpool suffered just one defeat against Watford in February as they built on last year’s Champions League title to solidify themselves as one of the greatest teams in this era of English football.

The coronavirus pandemic saw the season resume under unsettling circumstances, with whispers at one stage over whether it could even be declared null and void. However, by that stage, Liverpool were already 25 points clear, having long left their closest challengers, Manchester City and Leicester City, in a trail of dust.

Such a remarkable season was capped in style on Wednesday evening as Liverpool thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 in their first game back at Anfield, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah all on the scoresheet. The title was then ensured as Chelsea defeated City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
