Your support makes all the difference.Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has called Diogo Jota’s form sensational since arriving at Anfield after the Portuguese player scored for a second game in a row.
Jota netted the winning goal against Sheffield United on Saturday and went on to score in the Champions League against Midtjylland on Tuesday night, with Mohamed Salah sealing the win by securing a late penalty.
Lallana left Liverpool for Brighton over the summer after six years with the club but has praised the sides signing of Jota from Wolves during the recent transfer window.
After the Reds 2-0 victory, Lallana said: “The recruitment has been absolutely sensational. Jota’s proven his worth so far, long may it continue.
“When I first joined Liverpool, I tried too hard. It took me between a year and 18 months to settle in – the way Jota’s come in straight away is not to be sniffed at.”
Ex-Liverpool striker Peter Crouch shared Lallana’s comments about Liverpool’s recent signings.
Crouch said: “When you join Liverpool it goes up - everything is magnified.
“The moment you walk through those doors, the weight of history goes over you - all the signings in recent times has been first class.”
Jota’s goal on Tuesday was his third since arriving from Wolves for £43 million but made history for Liverpool as the 10,000th goal ever scored since the football club was founded.
This also meant that Jota was able to contribute to two out of two wins in Europe.
Jota said: “It’s a stat! I’m just happy to help the team achieve the win! After a good away win it’s important to keep adding points - we did our job.
“Everyone in the squad knows they will be important at some point in the season - when you have the chance you need to be able to do your job.”
