Jurgen Klopp has been hit with a major injury headache for his first match as Liverpool manager against Tottenham tomorrow, with Philippe Coutinho (groin) and Dejan Lovren (ankle) doubtful for White Hart Lane clash.
The pair could join a list that includes long-term absentees Danny Ings and Joe Gomez, who are both out for a minimum of six months with cruciate ligament injuries.
In addition, Roberto Firmino is expected to be out until the end of this month with a back injury, and captain Jordan Henderson is out until next month with a metatarsal fracture.
£32.5m striker Christian Benteke is also set to be sidelined until the end of this month because of a hamstring injury.
To complete the injury list, Jon Flanagan will not return until mid December. The defender has been out since April with a knee injury.
On left-back Gomez, Klopp said yesterday: "I met him first time - what a wonderful young boy. Tall, muscles in the right position, but an injured knee.
"It is not the best day of his life but I am pretty good at waiting for young players. This is his home. We will help him to back as soon as possible."
