From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

After a slight dip in form in January, Leicester rediscovered their form against Stoke City in the league, and Leicester fans alike will be hoping for another fine performance against Liverpool. Claudio Ranieri has stuck by the squad, despite doubts surrounding them, and his confidence seems to be paying off once again.
Jamie Vardy seems to be back to his best, after a number of small injuries, illnesses and surgeries over the Christmas period. His energy and tenacity had gone from his game, up until the Stoke victory, where he terrified their defence and along with Mahrez, he will be hoping to trouble Liverpool’s very shaky back line this week.
Our defence has been strengthened with the addition of Daniel Amartey, and that should hopefully improve our weakest area on the pitch. Schmeichel will also be hoping for another good performance in to keep Liverpool at bay, in a game where our defence will need to be very organised. It will be a very tough game, but Leicester should edge it 2-1.

2016's been pretty rough on the club's league form, so far - and the fixture list hasn't helped. A trip to a really good West Ham side (and is anyone else really not looking forward to the FA Cup repeat of that game?), plus games against Manchester United and Arsenal.
Norwich were the 'easy' game in the mix, which...well, let's just be thankful for the win and move on without a single glance backwards. And now, just to complete the evil run, it's a trip away to the leaders.
You know what, though? This isn't the Leicester of mid-November. This is a Leicester just about clinging onto their spell at the top. They've won just two of their last eight games in all competitions. They didn't manage to beat a 10-man Bournemouth or the most doomed Aston Villa side in the club's history. They're there for the taking. Leicester 1-2 Liverpool.
