Football agent Kia Joorbachian insists he was not to blame for the string of under-achieving players signed by relegated QPR while Mark Hughes was in charge.

The Welshman was sacked as Hoops boss in November after the team failed to win any of their first 12 Premier League games.

Hughes' time at Loftus Road has come under the microscope again following his appointment today as Tony Pulis' successor at Stoke.

QPR made 16 signings during his time with the west Londoners but few of them were successful.

Now Hughes' advisor Joorbachian has dismissed any suggestion he had a hand in the signings, with one exception.

"I'm always interested to read or hear that I was responsible for so many of the players signed by QPR last season," Joorabchian told BBC Sport.

"In fact I was only involved with the signing of one, Julio Cesar.

"When Mark was at Fulham [in the 2010-11 season], I only represented two of the players the club signed during that period - Mousa Dembele and Carlos Salcido."
