Your support makes all the difference.Steve Kean insisted he will be completely shocked if he is sacked despite seeing his Blackburn team slip to the bottom of the Premier League amid more supporter unrest during their 2-1 home defeat to Bolton.
The Rovers manager denied that the club's board will meet today and once again maintained that he has Venky's full support and that his only discussions with the club's owners have been about his transfer budget next month.
Kean was abused by Rovers fans throughout last night's match, which saw Mark Davies and Nigel Reo-Coker put Bolton in front before Yakubu pulled one back, and had a Blackburn shirt thrown at him as he walked down the tunnel at the final whistle.
Even though his wife was there to witness yet more abuse, Kean is adamant that the fans will not force him out and is sure that he will take Blackburn to Liverpool on Boxing Day.
Asked whether he would be shocked to be sacked, Kean said: "Yes, 100 per cent."Even though he has faced supporter protests all season, he is also sure that he can win the fans round.He added: "I hope so and by winning games. My wife is here and that's our job. When you win people will say that was amazing and when you lose people aren't happy and you understand that because it's part and parcel of the job.
"I'll go through it because if all my defenders were available and we had our first-choice back four we would win games. I'll keep saying that for as long as that is the case. I spoke to the owners prior to the game spoke to them at length yesterday about the transfer window and the players we want to bring in. I can only set the team up."
Kean also denied that he had left out veteran Spanish defender Michel Salgado to avoid triggering a clause that would invoke a new contract for the former Real Madrid man.
The Bolton manager Owen Coyle defended his fellow Scot, claiming that he has never been given a chance in his year at Ewood Park. He added: "I said to the players whether you're Manchester United or Chelsea, you have pivotal games, pivotal moments in a season and we had to draw a line under what went before and make sure this was the platform for us to move forward."
