The manager remained tight-lipped on the future of Daniel Sturridge, who has been linked with a January move to Sevilla having barely featured at Anfield this season. Sevilla are understood to have made Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi their top attacking target but could turn to Sturridge as an alternative.
Klopp would not discuss transfers and instead insisted he has enough talent in his current squad, and cited the return Adam Lallana from injury as a boost to his attacking line in the wake of Coutinho’s departure.
“We have a long and decisive part of the season to play,” Klopp said. ”We need all the players. We will see how it will be. If something jumped in my face maybe we’d think about it. First of all we have to use the high quality players we have. Lallana isn’t the replacement for Coutinho but he’s a fantastic player.”
Liverpool face Swansea City on Monday night in south Wales and are riding a wave following their 4-3 victory over Manchester City which ended the unbeaten streak of Pep Guardiola’s side.
Andrew Robertson produced an impressive performance at left-back and Klopp praised the Scotland’s international’s impact in recent weeks.
“He has been very important. He was cool earlier in the season when he didn’t play With [Alberto] Moreno on the way back we have two very good players for that position. Andy has stepped up and done a fantastic job.”
The manager indicated that his goalkeeper against City, Loris Karius, will remain first choice ahead of Simon Mignolet, despite courting some criticism for Leroy Sane’s equaliser in the game, and urged his countryman to kick on.
He said: “Yes Karius could have saved the first goal against City but he’s a really good goalkeeper. He has settled, a lot of things about his game are natural. Loris needs to deliver and he knows that. He’s the No 1 now.”
Ragnar Klavan and Mohamed Salah are fit again following illness, and Jordan Henderson is nearing a return but is unlikely to be fit for Swansea.
