From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Jurgen Klopp has agreed a three-year deal to become the new manager of Liverpool, and he will be presented to the media tomorrow morning.

But why all the fuss for Klopp? Check out our video (above) of the 48-year-old's managerial career, from Mainz to Borussia Dortmund to Liverpool.

Klopp joined Borussia Dortmund in 2008, and lead the club to back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012.

The defender Mats Hummels, who played under Klopp at Dortmund, has described the manager as someone who "eats, lives, breathes, thinks football."

"There’s no doubt he’s a fantastic coach and when people put their mind to the question of ‘what does he do post-Dortmund?’ then clubs like Liverpool naturally come into the equation.

"He eats, lives, breathes and thinks football day after day and is a fantastic addition to any team. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for him in his next venture."
