Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Jose Mourinho is now the odds-on favourite to be the next manager sacked from the Premier League.
Heading into the weekend Newcastle manager Steve McClaren had been sitting on the division's hottest seat but after Chelsea lost 3-1 at home to rivals Liverpool the bookies now see Mourinho as the next man to go.
In fact the Portuguese is odds on, with some firms offering prices as short as 3/10 - McClaren, who saw his team draw at Stoke City, is out at 4/1 in comparison.
However, when asked about his future at the post-game press conference, Mourinho does not believe he will be out of a job soon.
"No, I don't," said Mourinho when asked if he thought this was his last game in charge of the club.
"The fans aren't stupid. They know how much myself and the players are trying.
"The fight goes on, but sometimes there are fights very impossible to win. You go to a fight with different ammunition," he added.
Mourinho was later seen on the Chelsea pitch discussing things with his backroom staff.
