Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Midfielder David Jones insists he wants to stay with Wolves despite his long term future still being unresolved.
The former Manchester United player is in the final year of his current contract.
Talks have been on hold for a couple of months but Jones is adamant he wants to remain at Molineux and has a good working relationship with manager Mick McCarthy.
Jones said: "There is not an issue between me and the manager. He doesn't deal with the contract side of things.
"He wants me to sign. Obviously I want to get it sorted. I want to stay with the club. I have been happy during my time here.
"We said we were leaving things as they were and would be coming back to the table in a couple of months.
"That is definitely still the case.
"It has proved to be an excellent move for me. The manager has said publicly that he wants me to stay so hopefully it will get sorted out."
Jones added: "On a daily basis I am just concentrating on my football. Football is the main thing for me.
"It would be different if you were an ordinary man in the street with your future up in the air.
"But, as a footballer, you cannot let it affect you."
