Sudden Manchester City outcast Joe Hart has reportedly been left “furious” at his treatment by new manager Pep Guardiola as he begins his search for a new club.

The 29-year-old has been informed that he has no place in Guardiola’s plans after being demoted to the bench for both of City’s opening Premier League matches while also missing out on a starting berth for the Champions League play-off with Steaua Bucharest.

Hart is chiefly upset with reports this morning, from the Daily Mail, which suggest former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Guardiola decided he would be surplus to requirements before the end of last season but waited until now to inform the England goalkeeper.

Willy Caballero has been preferred in goal thus far this season while a move for Barça shot-stopper Claudio Bravo is expected to be completed in the coming days, subsequently pushing Hart down to third in Guardiola’s goalkeeping hierarchy.

The former Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper has won two Premier League titles at the Etihad while also enjoying success in both domestic cup competitions. Sam Allardyce, the England manager, has confirmed that he plans to keep Hart in his squad for the foreseeable future but warned that it is “critical” that he secures first-team football.

“Absolutely, eventually, in the end, it’s critical [to play regularly],” Allardyce said. “If it's a short period of time, maybe not.

“Then they come back in the team and everything’s goes fine, but f it goes for a longer period of time then I think its a difficult to select them, based on how they feel, never mind from a training point of view.

“Can they go and play at that level having not played for their own team for a considerable amount of time? It is a concern.

“Everyone has brought up the goalkeeping situation because Joe is not playing and [Jack] Butland is injured, so Forster is the only one who is playing.”
