From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has made just one change to the side that beat Newcastle last weekend.

Pablo Zabaleta comes in for Aleksandar Kolarov meaning Gael Clichy can take his usual place on the left side of the defence having played at right-back at St James' Park and in the Community Shield defeat against Arsenal.

The line-up sees Pellegrini stick with Stevan Jovetic up front with Sergio Aguero again on the substitutes bench, despite his late goalscoring cameo.

Brendan Rodgers has made two changes to his side, with Alberto Moreno, who makes his debut in, replacing Javier Manquillo, and Joe Allen starting in midfield for Lucas, who may well leave the club before the end of the window - he is being linked with a move to Rafael Benitez's Napoli.

Liverpool's new £16m signing Mario Balotelli will be in the stands for this one.

Line-ups:

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Kompany, Clichy, Fernando, Toure, Nasri, Silva, Jovetic, Dzeko.

Subs: Caballero, Sagna, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Milner, Navas, Aguero.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Johnson, Lovren, Skrtel, Moreno, Gerrard, Coutinho, Henderson, Allen, Sterling, Sturridge

Subs: Jones, Manquillo, Sakho, Toure, Can, Markovic, Lambert.
