From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has accepted that “anything is possible” as his team continue their fight against relegation with a visit to Manchester City on Sunday.
The Terriers face an extremely tough end to the season, with a trip to Stamford Bridge and a visit from Arsenal also still to come. Though just three points clear of Southampton in 18th, Wagner insists his squad are not daunted by the situation facing them.
“Everybody is excited. I don’t think they’re nervous because we have too much experience in comparable situations like this,” the German explained. “We had experiences last year and belters this year and now we have three games to go and everything is in our hands.
“We have three games to go where we will search, work and fight for our chance. Then we will see what we can get out of it. I am absolutely confident that we have our chance. Nothing is better than having the feeling that we can decide what happens.”
Tom Ince faces a late fitness test on Saturday, while German defender Michael Hefele returned to training this week and was a full participant on Thursday.
And despite having three members of the top six all still to play, Wagner played down talk of a change in system and formation, emphasising a need to maintain focus.
“Forget system or formation, the most important thing is not to switch off for a second because that’ll hurt you deeply. You have to make all the right decisions. It’s possible but it’s difficult. We like to test ourselves against the best and Manchester City are the best; they are the Champions.”
“If one football club knows that anything is possible it is us.”
