How was the season for you?: Portsmouth
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

But how was it for you? Comment at the bottom of this article and have your say on your team's season.
Who has been your best player this season?
Sylvain Distin, Glen Johnson or David James.
Who would you be glad to see the back of?
David Nugent does not look up to it and Milan Baros hasn’t done much.
What was your best performance?
The 7-4 against Reading was special but my favourite was the win at Old Trafford to reach the FA Cup semi-final.
And the worst?
The 1-0 loss at home to Boro. Possibly the worst at home since we were promoted.
Who have been your toughest opponents?
Spurs. They did the double over us and never looked like they’d lose at home or away.
Best player faced?
Fernando Torres tore us apart at Anfield.
Funniest/most bizarre moment of the season?
The 7-4 game against Reading left me speechless, you just didn’t know what to expect next!
Your perfect, but realistic signing?
Peter Crouch would make the perfect foil for Defoe and is a proven goalscorer at this level
Any reasons to be cheerful going into next season?
If we win the FA Cup then we could strengthen on the back of that and we’d have our first ever venture into Europe.
Reasons to be gloomy?
If we lose the final then I could see Niko Kranjcar, Lassana Diarra and Sol Campbell moving on.
Who will you support in Euro 2008?
Whoever I decide to put money on!
Overall assessment of your manager?
Harry Redknapp’s been brilliant. If we win the Cup then he may be the greatest manager we’ve ever had.
And overall assessment of your team?
It's been another good season but winning the Cup would make it an unforgettable one.
Marks out of 10?
7 (if we don't win the FA Cup)
9 (if we win our first silverware for 58 years)
