Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We've got the views of Ian Hayes - editor of Derby MAD website.

But how was it for you? Comment at the bottom of this article and have your say on your team's season.

Who has been your best player this season?

A very difficult question in a squad that has done little to justify its Premier League status.

Who would you be glad to see the back of?

Darren Moore; Older players such as Andy Todd, Robbie Savage etc.

What was your best performance?

Well we did win one, so I suppose the win against Newcastle.

And the worst?

There are so many; Any of the 6-0’s, but one that sticks out was 0-5 v West Ham.

Who have been your toughest opponents?

Liverpool were unstoppable at Anfield, we were never at the races and Torres was outstanding.

Best player faced?

Arsenal’s Adebayor, he is so strong.

Funniest/most bizarre moment of the season?

Trevor Birch, former CEO. He came in June 2007 and left just four months later with no explanation given.

Your perfect, but realistic signing?

A couple of good defenders, a midfield leader and provider of good balls for the front men.

Any reasons to be cheerful going into next season?

We should be big fish in a small pond next season. We should have money so shouldn’t be totally outclassed every week.

Reasons to be gloomy?

We need to re-assemble a team to be competitive in the Championship.

Who will you support in Euro 2008?

No one, just hope we see some good and exciting football.

Overall assessment of your manager?

Paul Jewell took on one of the most demanding jobs in the Premier League. Not sure if he realised the task he took on.

And overall assessment of your team?

I can’t swear in this section but I guess most Rams fans would. The whole squad has been dire this season – as the press constantly remind us – so I will leave it at that.

Marks out of 10?
