How was the season for you?: Blackburn
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. We've got the views of season ticket holder Cameron Clarke.
But how was it for you? Comment at the bottom of this article and have your say on your team's season.
Who has been your best player this season?
Roque Santa Cruz. With a mixture of craft and power, he’s proved a steal at £3.5m.
Who would you be glad to see the back of?
Aaron Mokoena. Sometimes reckless and always limited.
What was your best performance?
3-1 v Wigan. A complete performance, which seemed unlikely after Chris Samba’s red card.
And the worst?
The 4-1 FA Cup battering at home to Coventry was a day to forget.
Who have been your toughest opponents?
Man United at Ewood always looked like scoring. That said, an Arsenal XI were awesome in the Cup.
Best player faced?
Ashley Young – in fits and starts.
Funniest/most bizarre moment of the season?
Bizarre would be an FA charge for Morten Gamst Pedersen getting throttled at Newcastle.
Your perfect, but realistic signing?
Craig Bellamy would be the perfect foil for Roque Santa Cruz, but an inflated sense of his worth will prohibit it.
Any reasons to be cheerful going into next season?
If we can keep hold of Santa Cruz and David Bentley, we should be on for top six again.
Reasons to be gloomy?
Bentley might leave. Also, the glass ceiling makes our league ever more predictable.
Who will you support in Euro 2008?
Austria. They’re only there as co-hosts. It’s their year.
Overall assessment of your manager?
Mark Hughes is growing in stature and has a keen eye in the transfer market.
And overall assessment of your team?
Hughes says it’s the strongest side he’s had at Rovers and he’s probably right. Good enough to give most teams in the league a game, but perhaps a little shy of the class to unlock the league’s better defences.
