Jamie Redknapp believes he is on course for a Liverpool return early in the new year.
The England midfielder is recovering from knee surgery and has not kicked a ball for the club this season. However, he has been receiving treatment in the States all week and has been given a confidence boost from the surgeon who carried out the operation in the summer. Redknapp said: "The surgeon is very happy with the way things are going and has said the knee could not be in better shape. I just hope it carries on that way."
In Hungary, the legendary former player Ferenc Puskas is suffering from hardening of the arteries which has impaired the flow of blood to his brain. Ferenc Karpati, director of Puskas Marketing, said doctors had ordered tests to determine the extent of the disease.
