From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The official Fantasy Premier League transfer window is open and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is on top of the FPL’s price list unveiled for the new 2019-20 season.
Salah began last season’s campaign valued as the most expensive player in the game following an explosive debut season for Liverpool in which he scored 32 goals and won the Golden Boot. He was not quite as prolific last term but still won a share of the Golden Boot, with teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with a tally of 22.
Mane is the big climber this time around, rising to £11.5m from his starting price of £9.5m last season after a brilliant campaign as his club finished second in the Premier League. Despite playing such advanced roles under Jurgen Klopp, both remain categorised as midfielders in the new campaign.
Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero are priced at £12m, making them the joint-second most expensive players in the FPL. Harry Kane and Aubameyang are both priced at £11m, and are the only two players from outside City and Liverpool valued over £10m.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will cost £7m as the most expensive two defenders following hugely productive seasons on Liverpool’s flanks racking up plenty of assists, while their goalkeeper Alisson Becker is pegged alongside City’s Ederson as the most expensive keeper at £6m.
