Fantasy football injury news for gameweek 31+: Arsenal, Liverpool and Sheffield United face mounting problems
A round up of the club-by-club injuries across the Premier League
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. With the first full round in the bag since the Premier League’s resumption, a number of clubs are counting the cost of the lack of preparation.
Just one club will go into Gameweek 31 of the Fantasy Premier League without any injuries to worry about in the form of Wolverhampton Wanderers - a relief for Nuno Espirito Santo given the slender size of his squad - while the likes of Arsenal, Everton, Sheffield United and even league leaders Liverpool have mounting problems.
Arsenal look to have suffered the most from playing twice in the space of four days, while Sheffield United have come out of Sunday’s defeat by Newcastle badly with suspension adding to injuries to give Chris Wilder an unwanted headache in their pursuit of the Champions League.
Following last week’s bumper 12-match round, this week’s action returns to the normal 10-game fixture list, beginning with Leicester vs Brighton on Tuesday evening in the earlier kick-off, before the London derby between Spurs and West Ham takes centre stage later that night.
Five games take place on Wednesday night, but while Liverpool return to Anfield with a 20-point buffer at the top of the table, a victory over over Crystal Palace will not be enough to wrap up the title for good following Manchester City’s rout of Burnley on Monday night.
The gameweek wraps up on Thursday with three more games, with Arsenal looking to snap out of their rut on the road to Southampton, with the action wrapping up with a mouthwatering tie between Frank Lampard’s Chelsea and Pep Guardiola’s City in a match that could be to keep what’s left of the title race alive.
Here’s the latest club-by-club team and injury news.
