Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Mohamed Salah

Yes, it seems last year’s highest-scoring player may just have seen his stock fall enough for him to qualify as a ‘tip’ rather than an obvious must-have.

Mohamed Salah may not be scoring at the rate we came to expect midway through last season but he could hardly have a more favourable schedule in which to regain his form.

Training again after suffering a groin injury on international duty, Salah has a trip to Huddersfield, followed by a visit from Cardiff, then Arsenal away and Fulham at home.

Raheem Sterling

What better way for Raheem Sterling to celebrate ending his three-year international goal drought than scoring against Burnley on Saturday?

Manchester City’s meeting with Sean Dyche’s side certainly seems to be the pick of fixtures this weekend for managers looking to pick up cheap points.

Sterling remains a differential pick having been overlooked by many due to a pre-season price rise. The winger also seems likelier to last 90 minutes than Sergio Aguero.

Callum Wilson

The mid-price forward range has shown some promise so far this season, though early favourite Aleksandar Mitrovic is without a goal in his last two.

Callum Wilson might attract anyone looking to move Mitrovic on, having posted a goal and three assists in gameweeks 7 and 8.

The Bournemouth striker and his team-mates entertain Southampton this weekend before a trip to Mitrovic’s porous Fulham.

Matt Doherty

If you have not already invested in the Wolverhampton Wanderers defence, do so before becoming priced out.

Matt Doherty was tipped in pre-season by this column and, to date, has delivered with goals, assists, clean sheets and bonuses.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s backline represents such excellent value, it may even be worth doubling up on goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

Lucas Digne

Staying in defence, Everton’s Lucas Digne appears to have established himself as Marco Silva’s first-choice left back.

The summer signing from Barcelona is owned by just 1.6 per cent of managers despite offering attacking potential and Everton’s improvement in defence.

Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace, meanwhile, look a little stale up top and could bring their difficulties in front of goal at Selhurst Park on their travels.

Honourable mentions: Martin Dubravka, Jonny Otto, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Josh Murphy, Jamie Vardy.
