Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Son Heung-Min

With Liverpool at Manchester City on Sunday, two teams full of captaincy options become much less appealing and Tottenham's trip to West Bromwich Albion will be where the majority of armbands go.

Kane or Son? It's a tough call with no definite answer. Kane has penalties, Son has a greater range of potential points and has performed well on the road recently. If you don't have either, get Son but both feel necessary this week.

Ben Chilwell

For those managers still hanging onto Trent Alexander-Arnold, it is becoming difficult to ignore the points that Chilwell is offering as part of an improving Chelsea defence.

With five straight clean sheets in all competitions, Frank Lampard's side now welcome notoriously low-scoring Sheffield United to Stamford Bridge and Chilwell has the potential to profit in attack too.

Pablo Fornals

After a long run of fixtures against opponents expected to finish in the top-half, West Ham's fixtures finally begin to ease with Saturday's home meeting against Fulham.

Michail Antonio's injury is a blow but there are other options in attack. Jarrod Bowen is one but we like Pablo Fornals, who offers goal and assist potential with strong underlying numbers and a low ownership.

Jack Grealish

Quickly emerging into a must-have, Grealish's shot production has been exceptional this season and last week's haul against Southampton proved he can still deliver points in a defeat.

A trip to the Emirates may not be the most enticing fixture for Aston Villa but Grealish has the potential to score points in any game and enjoys a favourable schedule up until the new year.

Timo Werner

Many managers had their fingers burned by Werner at the start of the season and Lampard's tendency to play him out of position on the wing remains a concern but the goals are certainly starting to come.

Werner has three in his last three league games and though Sheffield United appear to be gradually recovering from their early season wobble, their defence is not what it once was.

Honourable mentions: Alex McCarthy, Vladimir Coufal, Tariq Lamptey, Jarrod Bowen, Callum Wilson
