Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Marcus Rashford

Retaining his place in our picks, Marcus Rashford simply cannot be ignored at the moment.

The Manchester United striker has five goals in his last six appearances, returning an average of 7.6 points-per-game during that spell for the modest price of just £7.7m.

Rashford's ownership has increased threefold in that time but if you are one of the diminshing number of managers yet to sign him, the visit of Burnley to Old Trafford represents a good time to take the plunge.

Sead Kolasinac

Arsenal's defence have proved less than reliable this season but after a clean sheet against Chelsea last time out, Sead Kolasinac has done enough to win back a place in our picks.

The roving left wing-back offers attacking potential on top of expected defensive returns against Neil Warnock's Cardiff City, who have conceded 21 times in 11 games away from home this season.

Buyer beware: Arsenal's upcoming run of fixtures is favourable but a trip to champions Manchester City is also on the horizon. Unai Emery's side travel to play the champions on Sunday.

Leroy Sané

Speaking of Manchester City, Leroy Sané continues to offer a consistent flow of points from midfield while Benjamin Mendy remains unavailable due to injury.

Mendy is close to a return - coming on as a substitute against Burton Albion last week - but the left-back's swollen knee will keep him out of the trip to Newcastle United on Tuesday night.

Until his return, Guardiola is likely to rely on Sané for width and the winger should keep delivering points, with 30 scored in his last three outings.

Lucas Digne

Has any other player offered us as many highs and lows as Lucas Digne this year? The Everton full-back earned us -1 point from his last outing against Southampton, when he scored an own goal in a 2-1 defeat for Marco Silva's side.

A week earlier, he had scored and kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Bournemouth and then there was his brace against Burnley on Boxing Day, which brought back 17 points alone.

What can we expect when Everton travel to Huddersfield on Tuesday night? Given that the Terriers have only scored 13 goals all season, you would think Digne stands a chance of a clean sheet.

Diogo Jota

A pre-season favourite who did little in the first part of the campaign, Diogo Jota was the hero of gameweek 23, scoring a hat-trick and returning 19 points against Leicester City.

Jota's brilliance last time out may prove to be a flash in the pan but he stands an excellent chance of starting up front alongside honourable mention Raul Jimenez after being rested for the FA Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town.

Manuel Pellegrini's West Ham visit Molineux after suffering at the hands of Wimbledon in the Cup.

Honourable mentions: Jordan Pickford, Andrew Robertson, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Raul Jimenez.
